An installation of image and sound illustrating a student and staff cultural visit to Jaipur to observe and learn from traditional artisans. The Indian crafts of woodblock printing, tie dying and metalwork embroidery practiced in Rajasthan for over four hundred years have endured over time, a heritage of artisanship passed from generation to generation. BA (Hons) Fashion Design & Technology students from the Manchester Fashion Institute visited craft villages surrounding Jaipur, working alongside master craftsmen to gain insight into the skills of the region, where artisans are dedicated to crafting in a tradition of sustainable practice.
