As and When – launches 1st July

Dear friends and colleagues I am delighted to invite you to the opening day of As and When, a collaborative photography exhibition by Robert Parkinson, Gary Bratchford, the Women of Windmill Hill and the Widnes Vikings Golden Generation group.  This project is part of the wider Culture Shifts programme which I have had the pleasure of producing for Open Eye Gallery this past year, funded by Arts Council England (Strategic touring programme). The Random Archive is a collaborative exhibition project taking place over 2 sites, Bury Art Museum, and MMU Special Collections Gallery. Curated by Susan Lord and Dr. Hannah Allan, the Random Archive exhibition features the work of national and international Language Artists which is part of Bury Art Museum’s unique Text Art Archive. Berlin 1936 – Olympic Village Project

An exhibition of contemporary art inspired by the athlete’s village constructed for the 1936 Berlin Olympics. (Re)configured – Practice based PhD research by Lesley Halliwell

14 – 17 February Grosvenor Gallery, Manchester School of Art Lesley Halliwell is conducting research that examines the surface of an artwork by focusing on the interplay between the outward-facing and inward-supporting components of the picture plane. Work on display includes video, chalk and gilded drawings, wall based ’tiling’ and exploratory sketches.  Lesley will be working in the gallery on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday between 11-3pm during which time she will reconfigure some of the work on display, testing out various permutations and display options. Chris Hamer – Becoming Ruin

Please see the attached flyer for the forthcoming exhibition to be held in the Grosvenor Gallery as part of the research for the MRes course at MIRIAD. The exhibition will be run from Wednesday 1st until Friday 3rd February (10am – 4.30pm) and the private view will be held on Thursday 2nd February from (4.30 until 7.00 pm).
