You are cordially invited to join us to celebrate the end of the DESIGN ROUTES project.

DESIGN ROUTES presents an engaging symposium and pop-up exhibition that explores the role of design in revitalising culturally significant designs, products and practices. As the culmination of a major AHRC funded collaboration between Lancaster, Leeds and Manchester Metropolitan Universities, there will be opportunity to gain insight of the research activities as well as presentation from leading thinkers in the field.

Led by Professor Martyn Evans (Manchester Metropolitan University) in collaboration with Professor Tom Cassidy (University of Leeds) and Professor Stuart Walker (Lancaster University), the Symposium will include contributions from the research team and, we are fortunate to host presentations from:

  • Rosy Greenlees, Executive Director, Crafts Council, UK
  • Ave Matsin, Head of Department of Native Crafts, University of Tartu, Estonia
  • Sebastian Cox, Furniture Designer, UK

The symposium comprises a keynote, presentation sessions, panel discussion, pop-up exhibition, networking opportunities and a drinks reception. Registration details are available at Eventbrite.

Please feel free to circulate to colleagues and students. We look forward to welcoming you on Tuesday 27 March 2017.
