The HArts.online Group (HOG) is an open forum for PGRs and staff to discuss and develop more considered approaches to the ‘academic’ Web. It is a forward looking, student-led initiative seeking to research and develop strategies for how the Faculty of Arts & Humanities Graduate School might respond to current Information Communication Technologies (ICTs), as well as instigate an uptake of inventive online approaches to support, enable and disseminate student and staff research to a wider academic community.
HArts.online presents an obvious candidate to embark on the practical merger of the existing MIRIAD, HLSS and MFI postgraduate training and support programmes. We’re keen to feature the best of current ‘digital’ practices from MIRIAD, HLSS and MFI integrated in a thoughtful and balanced way – and we’d like your input to help realise this in the new HArts.online News site – http://news.harts.online. The website is now active as a ‘wireframe’ of a proposed site structure along with development notes from a series of meetings between members of the Faculty of Arts & Humanities Graduate School team – you should check it out.
If you use, or are interested in how you might use the Web and/or Social Media in your research then we’d welcome your involvement. Participating in HOG requires no technical expertise or time commitment over and above a monthly meeting (unless you want it to).
Please RSVP to Lewis Sykes, MIRIADONLINE Coordinator – L.Sykes@mmu.ac.uk – if you’re interested and plan to attend.
