(Re)configured – Practice based PhD research by Lesley Halliwell

14 – 17 February
Grosvenor Gallery, Manchester School of Art

Lesley Halliwell is conducting research that examines the surface of an artwork by focusing on the interplay between the outward-facing and inward-supporting components of the picture plane. Work on display includes video, chalk and gilded drawings, wall based ’tiling’ and exploratory sketches.

Lesley will be working in the gallery on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday between 11-3pm during which time she will reconfigure some of the work on display, testing out various permutations and display options. She will also use the floor of the gallery space to plan out new work.

Please call in to say hello, chat about the work or the PhD experience as a whole.
